9-12 MONTHS OF PRACTICE AND PREPARATION ON SITE AT CROSSROADS CHURCH
The River Church Planting Residency collaborates with Crossroads Church to equip emerging leaders to plant churches that plant churches. Residents will be equipped through a personally customized combination of ministry experiences, instruction, and interaction with staff and leaders.
The standard Residency can be either full time (ministry work + study), or part-time.
Salary is made up of funds raised by the resident, which Crossroads Church matches at up to $20,000 over 9 months.
PROGRAM CONTENT
The content of the residency will be shaped by the model of church the resident seeks to plant. (Launch large, house church network, cell-based church.)
Residents gain experience by functioning as a staff person at one or more of Crossroads’ campuses:
- Lead and multiply a Life Group
- Participation in staff meetings
- Leadership of specific ministry
- Teach in multiple settings throughout the Church
- Attend a board meeting
- Outreach and evangelism ministry
- Participation in Movement Makers discipleship ministry
In addition to ministry work, the resident will have one day per week set aside for reading and learning as a cohort. Residents will produce an action plan for key areas of study, resulting in a comprehensive plan for their new church plant.

- Creating a church planting Timeline
