"Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergy or lay, they alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth."
– John Wesley, in a letter to Alexander Mather, 1777.
John Wesley got those 100 preachers (and more) and they sparked one of the greatest disciple making movements in history.
Today, Europe stands in need of another Spirit-empowered disciple making movement. In spite its history of Christendom, today most of Europe is disconnected from its spiritual heritage. Most of its majestic cathedrals stand virtually empty. Hundreds of millions of people embrace secularism and atheism, with only a small percentage following Christ.
A new 100 for a new day
God is moving in new ways across Europe, and Wesley’s 100 for Europe is an effort to join him in re-evangelizing the continent.
We are seeking 100 leaders whom God has called to start churches that will start churches in Eastern and Western Europe.
To help jump start this effort, a small group of generous Christ-followers has committed $50,000 toward to goal of $100,000 to support new church planters in the orthodox Pan-Wesleyan tradition.
$50,000 – committed
+ $50,000 – matching gifts to be raised
= $100,000 for grants to new church planters
The grants will support the educational and/or living expenses of new leaders planting Pan-Wesleyan (e.g. Global Methodist, Free Methodist, Wesleyan, Nazarene) churches in continental Europe. Wesley’s 100 is administered by the Board of The River Network International.
